Firearms Safety Course
Course in Firearms safety, 30195 QLD (approved for firearms licencing in Queensland)
This course is an accredited training course titled 30195 QLD - Course in Firearm Safety (approved for firearm's licencing in Queensland) and provides participants with relevant and comprehensive training for anyone who wishes to possess a firearm lawfully in Queensland. To apply for a firearms licence in Queensland this firearms safety training course must be first completed. Most of this training is in the class room learning about legislative provisions within the Queensland Firearms Act concerning firearms and their use, the social responsibilities associated with the use of firearms; and general firearms safety procedures. There is a written exam related to each particular category of firearm covering your knowledge and understanding of firearms terminology, basic firearm functions, firearms safety issues and procedures and the responsible use of each category of firearm. This is followed by a practical assessment (actual shooting) specific to each category of firearm assessing the trainee's performance in both live and dry fire situations. The course usually takes 8 to 9 hours.
Courses can be conducted in Category A, B, C, D and H firearms. These courses are delivered by Stuart Elliott a qualified firearms instructor in QLD under the QLD Weapons Act 1990 and in conjunction with Intraining Systems who is an RTO (registered training organization) under the Vocational Education and Training system in Australia. www.intrainingsystems.com.au
Stuart also has a Certificate IV in workplace assessment and training from the University of Queensland.
Courses are usually conducted at the SSAA Belmont range training facilities but can be conducted elsewhere if required. Please contact us for information.
